The Czech Republic, with its dense railway network and frequent timetables, can be the ideal country to travel through by train. For a reasonable price, you can watch the whole variety of Czech countryside right from the train window. The railway takes you to historical cities, mountains, national parks, rivers and ponds. It is easy to take your bicycle or ski with you. For railway enthusiasts is the Czech Republic a highly interesting country, as many unique and specific types of vehicles are operated there. Moreover some railway lines feature technical points of interest, as high viaducts, tunnel sections, different electrical supply systems, and you can find there also narrow gauge lines or a rack railway. The trend of market liberalization and railway fleet renewal is still very slow here, so at least you will often travel by older trains where you can look out from an opened window.
